Synopsis:

Beauty and the Beast JR. tells the story of Belle, an adventurous young girl, and the Beast, her hideous captor who is actually a young prince trapped under a spell. In order to break the spell, the Beast must learn to love another and earn her love in return – before time runs out.  With the help of the castle’s enchanted staff, including a loving teapot, a charming candelabra, and a nervous mantel clock, Belle and the Beast find a beautiful friendship and love that neither knew was possible. Beauty and the Beast JR. features classic songs from the Academy Award®-winning film score such as “Be Our Guest” and “Belle,” as well as original songs from the 1994 Tony®-nominated Broadway musical.

Audition Info: SATURDAY, DEC. 28

• Auditions will be held in two sessions  at warehouse14 (14 E. Ohio Ave.).
• Morning session: 10 a.m.-12 p.m.; afternoon session: 1-3 p.m. Sessions are limited to 35 people each. The cast will consist of 30.
• Call backs will be Sunday, Dec. 29 at 1 p.m. If auditioning, you must be available for call backs.
• Ages 10-18 only.
• If not auditioning for a specific character, please prepare an appropriate song from musical theatre repertoire.
• Video audition submissions will only be accepted from individuals we’ve worked with previously and who have a LEGITIMATE excuse for not being at auditions.
• Rehearsals will begin in mid-January.
• Fee ($150) is required for all cast members.  Qualifies for ACE Scholarship.  Additional half scholarships available for those who do not qualify for other scholarship aid. Payment due by January 18th.

*the ensemble of Lumiere, Mrs. Potts, Babette, Madam, Cogsworth, and Chip will ideally have the ability to sing in close harmony. During callbacks, you will be asked to sing in harmony on “Human Again.” You will be given your harmony part assignment during callbacks.

**Belle must have a well-developed soprano “head voice,” as well as, the ability to sing in an alto range. This is a vocally demanding role.
