MTVarts will be offering a weekly improv class beginning in February for ages 10-18.
This class will meet weekly, culminating in a performance in April and will help hone improvisation skills like collaboration, listening, and communication. The class will be taught by Christopher Hartman and Mary Harris, with special assistance by Bruce Jacklin.
Cost $125 per student or $45/month (you can pay by month or for the full course).
Class space is limited.
Christopher Hartman received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Ohio Northern University with a major in Musical Theatre. His training includes Chekhov technique, voice, and dance. He was most recently seen onstage in MTVarts’ production of Arthur Miller’s "All My Sons." He has also performed as Howard Bevans in William Inge’s "Picnic," Kapila/Devadatta in "Hayavadana" by Girish Karnad, Romeo in Shakespeare’s "Romeo and Juliet," Etches in "Titanic the Musical" by Maury Yeston and Peter Stone, and he originated the role of Joe Rupp in Yianni Papadimos and Ben Chavez’s musical, "Elysium: An American Fable."
Mary Harris is a recent graduate of The Ohio State University where she earned a B.A. in Arts Management. Most recently, she stage managed a production of "The Graveyard Shift" with MadLab in Columbus, helped with sewing costumes for "Oliver!" as well as production managing and co-costuming "Shrek JR" with MTVarts, and costuming "A Christmas Carol" for Community Family Players. When she is not managing the arts, Mary enjoys crafting, climbing, and hanging out with her friends.
