Grease Ticket and other Info

Cast Tickets

We have reserved the first two rows on the right hand side of the Lower Balcony for all performances of Grease for cast/crew purchase.  Any unsold seats in this block will be opened to the general public closer to July but we blocked it off so the cast would have an opportunity to get some good seats before all front row seats sold out. You DO NOT HAVE TO BUY JUST FROM THIS SECTION.  You may order tickets at the first read-through with exact cash, check, or credit.
All other ticket sales are available online or at First-Knox National Bank.

Tweet Seats

On opening night we will be selling Tweet Seats in the back of the Lower Balcony. The audience will be encouraged to subscribe to the MTVarts Twitter feed during the performance and we will be tweeting Grease trivia and behind the scenes information during the performance.  Audience members will also be encouraged to tweet questions in real time.

Cast Shirts

We will be ordering cast shirts very soon this year to get them in time for the Utica Ice Cream Festival.  We will be going off of information provided on the audition forms to order them.  If you are a lead and you said no shirt, you are getting one anyway because you will need it for Utica and First Friday. If you are production team or crew please let Scott know asap if you would also like a shirt.

The Grease cast will include the Pink Ladies, the T-birds (Greasers), the jocks/cheerleaders, the nerds (guys & girls) and a small group of faculty members. Specific speaking roles are listed below.

The T-Birds

A group of guys who go to Rydell High School. They all wear leather jackets with the T-Birds logo on the back, and slick their hair into a quiff. They consider themselves to be the coolest guys in the school.
·
Danny - the leader of the T-Birds. He generally considers himself to be very cool. He loves Sandy but doesn't want to look like a nerd in front of his friends.
·
Kenickie - the main womanizer of the T-Birds. His main aim is to get his hands on a set of wheels.
·
Doody - is very shy, especially around girls. He keeps trying to ask Frenchy out but never quite manages it...
·
Roger - nicknamed 'Rump', as he is the school mooner.
·
Sonny - the fifth member of the T-Birds.

The Pink Ladies
A group of girls at Rydell High who consider themselves the coolest girls in the school. They all wear pink cardigans emblazoned with their own logo, and they generally hang around with the T-Birds.

·
Sandy - the new girl in school. She is very naïve - doesn't smoke, drink, or go all the way with boys. She joins the Pink Ladies, but never really fits in. She loves Danny but can't understand why he acts differently towards her when he is around his friends.
·
Rizzo - she has a very on/off relationship with Kenickie, and even thinks she may have gotten herself into trouble with Kenickie. She is the leader, and the most wild, of the Pink Ladies.
·
Frenchy - is a dreamer, and not the sharpest tool in the shed. Her ambition is to become a beautician.
·
Jan - is constantly eating, and so has a weight problem. Food is her vice.
·
Marty - acts older than she is, and is having an on/off relationship with a sailor.

Other Characters
·
Teen Angel - a guardian angel dreamed up by Frenchy when she needs some advice.
·
Miss Lynch - a teacher at Rydell High.
·
Eugene - the nerd of Rydell. He is always picked on by the T-Birds because he isn't cool.
·
Cha Cha - a girl from a different school, who dates a member of the T-Birds' rival gang, the Flaming Dukes. (Dance experience required).
·
Vince Fontaine - a radio DJ and MC of the prom. He has the whitest teeth possible, spangly clothes, and talks like a typical radio DJ.
·
Patty - a cheerleader who wants to hang out with the Pink Ladies, but isn't cool enough.

Performance rights have been obtained to do the original version of Grease however we will tame down the language to be more in line with the High School version. Rights have also been obtained to perform the movie songs so use the 2007 Broadway Revival CD for rehearsal.
Promotional appearances have been scheduled for May 26, June 1 and June 30.  Those cast in lead roles would be required to attend.
